10 Secrets To Become A Self-Made Millionaire

Would you like to know the secrets to becoming a self-made millionaire?

Brian Tracy is a motivational speaker, personal development best-selling author, and corporate trainer. He is a success expert, having studied and taught success strategies for over 40 years.

He has written over 80 books related to: success in sales, time management, personal wealth, business, leadership, and self-esteem. Brian has done corporate training in 70 countries world wide. In short, he is a premier authority on the subject of “success” and wealth creation.

In this post Brian highlights the factors that consistently distinguish self-made millionaires.

Do What You Love– According to surveys, self-made millionaires became wealthy when they started doing what they enjoyed. They started businesses related to their skills or favorite pastimes. Mario Batali made his fortune in the food and restaurant industry. Barbara Corcoran from Shark Tank, loved real estate and built an empire. What do you like to do?

Dream Big Dreams– Brian Tracy says our lives are shaped by what we think about and imagine. Do you think Jeff Bezos, Elon Musk, and Richard Branson had big dreams? Shoot for the moon! They are actually on their way there.  You can join them on one of their space flights!

Never Think About FailureSuccessful people know that failure is an essential ingredient for success. They learn from their mistakes. They pivot, then try again until they succeed.

Set Clear Goals- Determine and describe exactly what you want to accomplish and set clear SMART goals. Write them down. Set goals that stretch you and may even scare you a little bit!

Do One Thing At a Time- Focus! Don’t fall victim to “Shiny Object Syndrome.” Choose one thing to do and stick to it. Research suggests that multi-tasking is not the most effective strategy. First things first!

Stay Around The Right People- Associate with people that you want to emulate. Success is contagious! It is said that your wealth is the average of the five closest people that you associate with. Associate with wealthy people and learn from them.

Be Honest With Yourself and Others- Practice honesty and integrity in your daily life as well as in your business. A reputation of honesty and integrity is worth a million bucks! Make promises and keep them. Nordstrom’s has built a stellar brand with this concept.

Be Very Persistent- Don’t quit! It’s always too early to give up. One of the most important factors for success is perseverance. Success does not happen overnight. It can be a long-term journey. Overcome obstacles and keep going!

Discipline Yourself- The magic ingredient that makes everything work for you is “self-discipline.” That means doing whatever needs to be done whether you feel like it or not. Take action and make no excuses! Remember this, “If it’s to be, it’s up to me!”

I would add one more secret that actually is not a secret. In fact, to some people it may even be a dirty four letter word!

Hard WORK!- I have never met a successful person who has not gotten there through hard WORK! Even Thomas Edison said, “Opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work.”

When you begin to THINK like a millionaire, you’ll then start to BEHAVE like a millionaire. And when you behave like a millionaire, you’ll begin to DO things that a millionaire does, and when you start to do those things you’ll begin to get RESULTS.”- Napoleon Hill
