How To Magnetically Recruit Reps Without Chasing Friends, Relatives, or Deadbeat Leads!

When I first started in network marketing, I was told by my upline that if I followed “the system,” I would be a guaranteed success in my MLM business.  I was so excited!  All I had to do was follow a simple system and never quit.

I saw all the successful people walking across the stage at conferences.  I listened intently to their success stories. And, I thought “Well if they can do it, then I can do it!”  I just have to follow the system and work hard.

I could see myself on the stage, telling my story to the large audience.  I could imagine myself going to work and telling my boss to “Take this job and. . .!”  I could see my huge house with the pool in the backyard.  I could see the Ferrari in the garage!  And, I could imagine myself on the beaches of the world!

Unfortunately, after a few years in network marketing, I realized that I could not succeed using “the system” that was taught to me by my upline.  This is what they taught me:

• Make a list of 100 name including friends and relatives
• Talk to anyone that can fog a mirror within a 3 foot radius
• Start a conversation and ask questions related to “FORM”
• Make an appointment to show them “the plan”, invite them to a home meeting, or hotel meeting
• Follow-up
• Easy Peasy!

Well, this is what happened. . . I failed miserably!

First, I had a hard time making a list of 100 names. I don’t have that many friends and relatives and I couldn’t add names to the list fast enough.  When I actually contacted my list and showed them my business, they all rejected my proposition.  I soon became a member of the NFL (no friends left)! That was painful!

Secondly, I’m basically a shy person. In fact, in high school, I was voted the shyest in my class. I hated it!  So talking to strangers at the mall, at lines in the bank, or trying to prospect my waitress was excruciatingly uncomfortable.

When by chance, I did succeed at finding a prospect, I would invite them to a home meeting, or hotel event.  I spent most of the time waiting for my prospect in the lobby hoping that they would just show up.  Well, I don’t have to tell you what happened. . . They never showed! I just wasted several hours of my time!

Long story short, I got nothing but rejection, wasted time and money, and got extremely discouraged! Even when I was able to actually recruit someone into my business, after about two months they would go into the “witness protection program” and I would never see them again! I could not recruit them faster than they would quit.

My story should have ended here by saying that I was so discouraged that “I Quit!”  However, I knew that the network marketing industry had a lot to offer and could make a big difference in my financial future.  So, I kept at it. I didn’t give up.

I knew there had to be a better way.  I just had to keep searching for the right system that would work for me.  The internet came into existence and a whole new way of doing things opened up.

As I searched the internet for what other successful network marketers were doing to grow their businesses, I learned that more and more mlm entrepreneurs were embracing the internet and social media to grow their businesses.  Most MLM leaders were not admitting it, but it was true!
